Tanks This trip was suggest by a friend from the Arizona Pioneer Cemetery Research Project. Webber mine is located in the Harcuvar mountains Northeast of Wickenburg in LaPaz county.

The mine is located in the upper reaches of Webber Canyon on the ECP Peak topo map. It is in T8N, R12W, section 25, NW corner. The vast majority of the trip will be on the Webber Canyon topo. The turn off from route 60 will be on the Socorro top map south of the Webber Canyon map.

The primary name for the mine is the Congress acording it the ADMMR database. The name Webber is considered an alternate name. ADDMR does not have a file on the mine, but according to their database, copper was the primary commodity mined there.

The drive is very easy. It can proabably be done in a high clearance 2 wheel drive vehicle. The road up to the wildnerness boundary is sandy until about 1.5 miles from the end where it does become rocky and you will need to slow down.

The directions will start in Wickenburg center. mine
Take route 60 west out of Wickenburg.
It is 26 miles to Aguila.
From Aguila it is about 13 miles to the turn off, about 1/2 mile beyond mile marker 72.
Take a right or north onto a dirt road. follow it across the RR track until it bends right. About 2.5 miles.
Take the road as it goes right. In 1/2 mile you will see a dam across the wash.
Take the road as it goes belows the dam. At the other end it will go west then north through a spoil bank.
Follow the road until you come across the power line road and go left.
There will be a gate. From the gate it is .6 miles to the 3rd right to Webber Cyn.
Turn right (north). It is 4.5 miles to you reach the Harcuvar wilderness boundary and a wildlife tank.

Once you reach the wilderness boundary you will have to hike about 3 miles to the mine site. Although it is an up hill hike, it is a gradual incline up to the living area. After that it is a steep 1/4 mile hike up to the mine itself.
The hike up for the most part is through a beautiful desert. The day I went the desert was in full bloom. There were poppy flowers all over the ground. Everything was green due to winter rains. It's not to often one gets to see the desert this way.

Once you arrive there is not much left to see. A collapsed buliding, a good size tank, the strange rock formations on the left. There are some 6X6 posts sticking out of the ground that may have been posts for a corrall, but I am not sure about. There is also several level areas that may have been living areas or processing areas. The mine itself has an collapsed adit, pictured above, and a deep shaft above it.
